Clinique - Problem skin

I've had problems with acne since my teens. After several tearful trips to the doctors and many different treatments my doctor finally decided a visit to a dermatologist was needed. At the tender age of 13 I was given a two year treatment to clean my skin.

To cut a long story short nearly 6 years later my skin had now decided to turn against me and start breaking out. I did have a regular skin routine but once at uni it went out the window and I struggled to get back in to the routine.

The easiest and cheapest solution I started to use was the Clinique 3 step range ( see picture below) . 5 years ago, my skin type matched that of the type 2 clarifying lotion. 5 years later I'm still using this type which is a total miss match to my now new skin type.

Today whilst passing through Cardiff I decided to visit the boots branch and ask about a new regime and to find out what my skin actually needed.

The woman was extremely helpful and suggested I use their anti blemish range, even suggesting I buy the soap as it lasts nearly three times as long as the foaming soap.

As I'm saving I need to wait till the end of the month to purchase my new regime but the woman willingly gave me sample sizes of the soap and clarifying lotion and informed me the moisturiser I'm using will be okay to hydrate my skin.

Tonight's the first night of using so after two weeks I'll update with the results. I'm hoping to see a change in my skin and it's breakouts so I can feel confident again and not drowned in make up.

Another problem I suffer with is ridiculously big pores. Clinique has a pore solution range, which is said to reduce pore size in a matter of two weeks. This range is also something I'd like to try out. I'm hoping when I purchase the anti blemish range I try get some samples to try.

Another thing I went to look at was make up. I need full coverage and although I use a primer to tone out the redness in my skin I still feel the need for a thick cover to make my skin look smooth and matte. The lady informed me of a new product coming in Oct so when I go back I'm hoping to test out this new pore minimizer foundation against their already released anti blemish

Hopefully with all these products I can get my skin looking flawless and I can finally start to feel confident and like an adult rather than a acne prone teenager when I move to London.

I will update with results in two weeks

Minnie Mouse

Minnie mouse has been a constant reminder of my childhood. Through out my mum and dads rocky relationship and divorce Disney has always had a place in my heart. Minnie and Ariel were both my best friends who brought me to a happier place whilst watching them on screen and meeting them at disney land.

In August it was announced Minnie was taking over LFW. Several designers including Giles, Richard Nicoll, Lulu Guinness and Tatty Devine were set the task to interpret Minnie’s signature bows, iconic round ears and trademark polka dots to create one-off garments and accessories to be unveiled at LFW this September

Giles and Richard Nicolls designs

Today the garments were launched at an exclusive event. The two items that caught my eyes instantly were the giles dress and head band duo.

From the drawings I was eager  to see the outcome and Giles has nailed it. The hint of polka dot, Minnies face taking over the skirt and the studded headband adds a punky twist to the iconic round black ears.

The items are to be auctioned together with eBay to support the BFC/Bazaar Fashion Arts Foundation, an auction I think I might have to keep my eyes on.

I WANT THIS DRESS :(

Pu leather sleeves

The military trend is a constant A/W favourite. This year I feel the look is being taken literal with camo print flooding the high street and hints of war time nostalgia.

After seeing the military jacket with leather sleeves on a few people I decided this jacket was for me.

The first store I saw it at was River Island............

The price tag was a bit steep but I tried it on at my local store and decided I would purchase on payday.

My friend then informed me that Primark were releasing a version of the jacket. At £25 I then decided to wait and hunt down the Primark version

As I should announce I'm leaving my job at New Look ( :( ) to enter full time work for a little while. This means my discount will be stopped. With this I have cheekily abused the discount the past two weeks. When online shopping to see what will be coming in to store I spotted that New Look had created a version.

The day I decided to go shopping, by some sort of co incidence the jacket had come in on new line, AND surprise surprise a size 18 was in on delivery. This to me meant fate so I purchased the jacket with my uniform discount so ending up paying £22.49 for the jacket.

The sleeves has a material paneling underneath the leather which is hidden. I like this feature as it adds comfort to the sleeves and gives them a bit of stretch ( for my bingo wings). The jacket it's self is fitted and hugs the right places for my curves. This gives it a feminine touch which I adore. There's zip features and stud features on the collar and pockets. I'm going to add my own studs to it to customise it a bit more to my taste but the jacket overall is not only worth it with my discount but I'd probably purchase this jacket at full price.

I can see me wearing this jacket constantly teaming it with floaty dresses or my new ASOS curve matte finish leggings ( review coming up shortly). It's such a versatile jacket to welcome Autumn and winter in nicely to my wardrobe.
