EVOLVE Magazine

SO Evolve magazine is running a competition to be on the front cover.  As the CEO Rianne Ward explains

After receiving soo many emails from hundreds of women wanting to be on the cover of Evolve magazine. We have decided to hand over the decision of our next cover model to our readers YES that means YOU!!
Evolve magazine prides itself on having ‘real’ women on the cover and have had some amazing people such as Songtress Mica Paris, Kelsey Arif , Jada Sezer and even Americas next top model Miss Tocarra Jones.
So for our next issue we have decided to give our READERS the control on articles, images and even subjects – all will be chosen by our READERS and this includes giving our readers the opportunity to chose their favourite REAL reader to grace our cover. So how do YOU enter the competition??? Keep reading….

You can find more details on how to enter here

I decided to submit this image to enter :

Along with the following to explain why I'd love the chance to win :

Whilst working with models and in the fashion industry I continuously play with idea of modelling. Can I? Can't I? There's no secret I'm a lover of the now famous "selfie" but having my picture taken by a professional to be placed on the front cover would not only push my confidence but I'd hope push other ladies too X

It is judged on the amount of likes to the image

If any of you would take the time to click through and Vote via this Link that would be incredible. Of course Like the Evolve magazine page to keep up to date with the fantastic issues, but also vote for all the other gorgeous ladies submitting to the competition. The competition looks amazing already.

Birthday treats

So I gave myself a spending ban beginning of April and surprisingly this has lasted for 2 months. I mainly stopped myself from spending on Asos Curve, but I seemed to have stopped spending altogether.
Who would believe, me, Michaela, Queen of shopping. I know I know, shocking, but with my birthday money (only 3 weeks later) I decided to head to Oxford street after work to spend.

I only purchased three items but I think their cute and transitional for the up and coming A/W season. No that is not me wishing the summer away.

                                          Top - Primark          Top/dress -         Top - Primark
Skirt - New Look        River Island       Skirt - New Look

I absolutely love how simple the Primark t shirts are. Printed on a boyfriend tee shirt, they are easy to wear, comfortable and so darn cute with the hearts and spot print, and at £4 a pop each I couldn't leave them. I am tempted to try pick up some more prints they had, but these two stood out at the time. I spotted the River Island t shirt dress whilst researching prints in work, first glance on screen and I could see Givenchy straight away.  At£20 I initially thought it was a little steep but with the length I decided it can easily be worn with/without leggings and as a shirt so it has unlimited use.

Have you bought these items? or anything new recently?

Musical May

After recovering from Food poisoning and finally making it back to London the next weekend was full of musical delights. May has become all about music. I've attended so many gigs and pretty much seen all of my favourite bands.

On the Wednesday, due to pre ordering the album I was invited along to an instore at Banquet records. The Wonder Years have pretty much been a band that I've always loved. Their lyrics always serve a purpose and their live shows are always just right, along with every Ep/album they've released. 'The greatest generation' was no exception to their everlasting contribution to great pop punk music.  The instore was perfect, personal and of course I wasn't disappointed.

I managed to get myself a ticket to Muse at the emirates on the Saturday, with my longest friend ever Laura and her mother. A drunken day, I had the best time seeing her, the last time was November 2012 :(.

Waking up on the Sunday with groggy vision I made my way to Hatfield for the annual Slam Dunk Festival. The line up incredible this year. I saw the majority of my top 10 bands and got to spend the day my best friend SJ again.

I've seriously had the best month!! Although May last year I was sunning myself in Greece with my friend Laura.

The only downside to the month, was making the decision to move back to Wales. London is one of the most exciting and thrilling cities I've lived in but it can also be the loneliest and intimidating places. I had to make the decision based on money and no job opportunities (as of yet) so moving back to Wales made perfect sense. I will be back though :)

MAY TIME

So you may or may not have noticed my blogging came to a hault for a few weeks.

I always get excited for May arrives. It's a month full of family and friends birthdays so not only is a expensive but it's pretty busy, this year no different.

My beautiful mother turned the good ripe ;) age of 50 this year on the 17th May and although I felt like the bad daughter for moving away this year, I made sure it was a birthday not to forget.

All the way from London (with a lot of help of friends and family) I managed to pull off a lot of surprises.

Through all of this it was my birthday on the 14th. I celebrated in London with tapas and cocktails with a few of my lovely friends the weekend before. On the actual day I went to Kingston to watch my favourite band The Story So far, followed by Title Fight on the 15th.

I then made my way home on the thursday for the weekend. My mum was spoilt rotten as you'll see from the pictures. The saturday was my day with the girls and was supposed to turn in to a mental night in Cardiff, that is before I disastrously caught food poisoning.

I never want to experience the embarrassment of being that sick in public again, neither do I want to be that ill again. I pretty sure trying to drink through it didn't help but I generally didn't want to believe I was ill.

It kind of spoilt my weekend but I'm just thankful my mum had an amazing time.

I'll round the little update with a few pictures from the weekend, not to bore with continuous writing.
