Alice And You - How I Dress the 70's Trend

A few weeks ago I met up with some uber blogger babes in London. We’d previously met up at Westfield months before and unfortunately had a bad run in staff at TGI Fridays. After a complaint and some serious action from the area manager we received vouchers to make up for the rudeness we’d experienced.

As we hadn’t seen each other in a while we all decided on a date and met up for a mini birthday celebration for me and so that we could use our vouchers.

The week previous I had bought this Alice and You dress (available at Simply be and ASOS.) As the weather was lovely I decided to wear it.

As soon as I saw the print and style I knew this had to be mine. Bang on the 70's boho trend and really easy to wear, it was perfect…….apart from the length. Now I know I’m 5ft 9 but this dress barely covered my bum. And I’m pretty sure if you were shorter it would still sit at an uncomfortable length. I put on some tights and my trusty chub rub shorts (a bargain buy of £1 in an asda bargain bin.) The dress did sort of cover the shorts but of course when waking and suffering Marilyn Monroe moments everyone got an eye full of shorts (I’m sure they’d rather that than my bum.)

I popped on a sleeveless waistcoat and a floppy hat as well as platform boots and was impressed at how stylish I looked (even if my head did just expand a little bit when writing that.)

The meal its self was amazing. The staff couldn’t have done enough to make our visit much more satisfactory than the last attempt. We had cocktails, starters, mains and some even had desert (what it was my birthday treat after all ;).)

I love how blogging has brought together such an amazing group of ladies of all shapes and ages. When we’re together we always have such a giggle and such a fun time. I’m grateful to call them friends and that we get to share our experiences and these moments together.

  4. You look awesome!! I don't think the skirt looks too short but I can relate to wearing clothes I think are too revealing on my bottom.
