You're a Wizard Harry

I’m not the biggest Harry Potter fan (or so I thought), but I have read all the books and seen all the movies (that counts for something right?) Anyway, after living in London for over a year and a half, me and mum finally decided to take a trip and visit the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in Watford. Mum had holiday to use and we’d both wanted to go to see behind the scenes of films that shaped my childhood and my mum’s adulthood.

I’d already spent the weekend with mum. We’d managed to get to Brick Lane and she spotted this camel over sized coat on a rack in a vintage shop. No questions asked, she bought it for me as a present for staying and that was that. I’d been after a camel coat, and even though this isn't the exact thing I wanted, I still love it none the less.

Anyway on to Harry Potter. The tour really was incredible. Everything looked soo small compared to what we see on the screen, but to be stood in the middle of the main hall and realising that the scenes I love were shot here was incredible. Me and mum took advantage of being able to ride on a broom (in front of a green screen, just like how they filmed the scenes in the film.)  We also got to learn how to use a wand the right way and I managed to be a part of Diagon Alley.  I tried knocking for Harry at number 4 Privet Drive but alas no one answered :(. We managed to take 5 and grab a Butter beer ( sadly not to my taste.) The whole thing was so magical; it really made me want to watch the films over and over again. It also really made me realise how much I missed the whole crew and story line. Sadly when me and mum went, platform 9 ¾ and the Hogwarts Express weren't open. Just means we have to go again ;).

We both had such a magical day and I loved getting to spend time with my mum. I really didn’t realise how much Harry Potter had influenced my childhood and I’ll forever be thankful to JK  Rowling for imagining the idea of Harry and bringing the book to life.

Knock! knock! Harry come out to playy

Yes I'm trying to drive away with this. My ass would not fit in the side car :')

Have you been to the Studios? As well as trying to get back to see the Hogwarts express, I really want to visit the Harry Potter world in Orlando. I'm a little Potter Obsessed it seems.

Black is the new Black - Khloe Kardashain inspo

Black will always be a go to colour for me as a foundation to an outfit, but I very rarely wear head to toe black. I leave this in the trusty hands of my best friend Octavia. With my new sophisticated style I decided to fully dress in black. I teamed this sleeveless turtle neck crop top with a maxi skirt with slits at either side. I also took some inspiration from Khloe Kardashian. She is most definitely my favorite sister. Honestly if we knew it each other I think we'd be best friends (in your dreams Mic.)

To say I felt fierce is an understatement. I love how clothes can make you feel and give you strength and confidence. I love the side slits up the skirt. they are so seductive, I can just show off a little leg by posing, but then hide them away :p.  I feel like calling this outfit sophisticated goth? (without offending anyone.)

I just can't wait to rock this outfit on my next big night out, maybe with a brighter lip and chunky bracelets?

I love Asos Curve and It's definitely not a secret to anyone. Premier is a god send as it gives me the convenience to receive things next day so I never have to wait too long to wear my bits.

As much as the curve range is pretty good atm. There are a few bits in the main range I'd love to get my hands on. I chose 7 lucky looks (let's hope the luck rubs off and we see things like this in the Curve range soon) for Debz challenge #HeresWhatIWouldHaveSpent

These other babes have completed the challenge too. Look at what they would have spent through these links:

#psblogger love

Todays challenge I'm participating in is #psbloggerlove. There's been a bit of a negative shift (if that's what you'd call it?) in the blogoshpere and the wonderful Debz created this idea of spreading the love among one another. Inspired by the likes of #youarefab today is about communicating positively and just sharing our fond memories among as amazing Plus Size bloggers. For this post I was given a blogger whom I had to write all the things I love about and the memories we share.

I was given the lovely Sarah of Plus size proudNow what can I say about Sarah? Other than she's an absolutely incredible person. I love following her instagram, twitter and blog. She's such a positive person and just has so much fun, never taking herself too seriously. The type of person I love to surround myself with and hang out with (silly distance keeping us apart haha.)

I have such fond memories of her from Plus North last year (2014), including her suggesting buying paracetamol among the copious amounts of alcohol I was purchasing for the night ahead. The motherly instincts in her coming out to ensure I had no headache the next day hahaha ;).

The one thing I find so lovely is also her friendship with Hannah of Fabulouslyfatfashion. It's so lovely to see friendships like that form between us, and both these girlies gave me such a laugh at Plus North.

I enjoy her ever changing hair colours and styles, especially her amazing collection of wigs :p I completely admire her as she will be shaving her hair off for Mind on 11th April 2015. You can donate by clicking the Just Giving link here. I really urge people to donate to such an amazing cause.

I just genuinely enjoy Sarah's company and her fun love attitude towards life. She doesn't let anything stop her, I just hope when I'm her age I'm still rocking the plus size industry and blogger community like she is haha.

Trending in the Plus Size Community

trend
trɛnd/
verb
  1. change or develop in a general direction.

    synonyms:movegotendheaddriftgravitateswingshiftturninclineleanveer
"interest rates are trending up in Japan"

  2. "Trending" is a mutilation of the English language that means "currently popular."

So correct me if I'm wrong but pretty much all of us would love to be trending. Whether it's an instagram picture that goes viral/appears or trends, our websites/blogs trending on tumblr/Bloglovin etc or even a hashtag we've created hitting the trends section at the left hand side of your homepage. We'd all love that recognition that comes with being noticed and having our pageviews/followers fly through the roof.

I for one have never ever really hit the top, but I have had the pleasure of taking part in hashtag movements such as #youarefab and have been fortunate to be interviewed for a major UK publication all due to my blog. Of course with those highs comes lows though. Everyone in the blogsphere has probably experienced both these emotions (some more than others maybe,) but I think it's so easy to get caught up in what others are achieving than it is to look at what you are.
Recently I've seen some upset amongst people. I understand the frustrations I do, because I probably experience those exact feelings sometimes, but it's what we do with that emotion that counts.
I'm so proud of the direction the Plus industry is going in. Brands are much more aware of our presence and are working hard (some more than others) to accommodate us all. Although Twitter/Blogs are there to vent and rant, I do feel that maybe we all should take a look at how far we've come not only individually, but as a group. Don't let those frustrations get the better of you. I for one just think of how far I've come, what I've achieved and also the reason for me blogging. I'm not gifted left right and center and that's okay, I'm hardly noticed by a lot of brands if I'm honest, but when I receive comments & emails stating how I've changed one persons view on their selves and how they dress, I feel like my influence is there and is done.

Anway, enough of the deep stuff. When I spotted this t-shirt, the shape was what stood out, but also how the print was set up like a dictionary definition. The topic of Trending just stood out and I found it ironic and fitting to how I was feeling whilst shopping. I just thought it'd make for a fun tongue in cheek outfit.

Who knows maybe this post/outfit will trend? but like I said, if this look/post can just take some unnecessary pressure off and it's here just for your enjoyment, I'm happy

RND15

Tk maxx team up with Red Nose Day and a Fashion designer/designers every year to create the official charity t shirts. In the past the likes of Vivienne Westwood to Stella McCartney have all contributed designs to be sold to raise money. This year 5 designers ( Karl Lagerfeld, Diane Von Furstenberg, Anya Hindmarch, Henry Holland and Matthew Williamson) have all contributed an idea to a t shirt. Some have used famous quotes, others have designed prints that are unique but signature to their brands.  I purchased two over the weekend and I love them.

I went for the Henry holland polka dot t shirt and the Anya hindmarch quote t shirt. You may or may not know but i am a HUGE girls fan, so when I saw this quote on the Henry Holland T shirt, I knew it HAD to be mine. I also am fond of a Oscar Wilde quote and Anya Hindmarch's t was completely spot on for me.

Unfortunately I didn't get a picture in my Anya Hindmarch T (purchased in a XXL so it's incredibly baggy), but I'm wearing a XL in the Henry Holland tee below.

Kinky Khaki - Kim K outfit inspo

So recently I am all over the Kardashians/Jenners looks. Minimal, colour blocked and so easy to wear, I really think these sisters are setting the mark high. I was inspired by Kim specifically with this look. Some may say she’s getting it so wrong in the style stakes, and if I’m honest I’d never let a man dictate what I could or couldn't wear. But I think it’s clear to say Kim has connections in high places only some of us could dream of having, and I for one am extremely jealous of that alone.

You may have noticed I love my clothes tight and structured most of the time, so I can show off my shape (yes even the wobbly bits some try to hide.) I’m not one to hide anything away really, but I usually try to dress in bright colours and prints thinking this will get me noticed. I loveee how this look is just colour blocked in muted tones, but still gives me the same desired effect. Girls, my top tip is don't be afraid to wear a turtle neck, get ya arms and legs out and wear a tight midi skirt. The world honestly isn't going to end. Flaunt those curves and your amazing bodies :).

I’m definitely at a place with my style that I feel like I’m maturing. I feel like I’m shying away from my usual’s and experimenting a bit more with style, fit and quality. I think I’m finding that less is actually more in that sense.

Anyway I felt inspired and pretty darn sexy with this outfit, and I don’t even care that my VBL is showing :p.

Anna Scholz - Net mesh Body- Con Dress

I posted about the Launch of Anna Scholz new collection a few weeks back. If you clicked through to the brochure, you were treated a sneak preview of both White and Black label pieces.

You may have spotted this incredible Net Mesh bodycon dress among the pages. As soon as I saw this I knew I had to have it. It's sexy and covers and reveals in all the right places. I love to show off my figure and this fitted and structured dress is perfect to do that in.

The dress is from Anna's Black Label collection which is described as being:

'inspired by individuality, freedom and self-expression, Black Label offers laidback sophistication fused with a cool urban heartbeat this season. It’s the story of East meets West , romanticism meets street , glorious print meets amazing fabric. Spring / Summer 2015 is the reflection of all the cultural influences we encounter.'

I styled this dress up with a pair of heels, a little bit of colour with a textured bag and lipstick, and a Primark necklace (Similar here). I think this piece is so easy to style. You can either pair with it with lots of bits or keep it simple like I feel I have in this look.

Asos Curve Splurge - You either love or hate

So I've recently gone a splurge, buying pieces to update my wardrobe that are stylish, simple and I can build many outfits from. I found my wardrobe was beginning to become a bit too mis matched and I struggled to build more than one or two looks out of the pieces I had.

I've always wanted a turtle neck top, but Primark didn't deliver when I was looking for a plain black jersey one, (I'm a sucker for buying my basics from there.) So when Asos Curve had one in and an extra 20% off I had to get it (came to £11 in total I think.) For a piece I know I'll wear over and over again I think I'll get my wear out of this. I'm hoping this jersey lasts and doesn't get bobbly and thin over time (the only negative of buying £5 tops from Primark.)

These trousers are a little bit like marmite. I think you either love or hate. They are the typical jersey peg leg trouser Asos Curve produces, but I love them so much. I purchased a polka dot and floral pair about two years ago and lived in them for months. I think the fit and the print is so so good and the comfort level is through the roof. The plus with this fabric seems to be that they don't seem to bag as much as previous pairs I have bought. The grid print is so in right now too which is a bonus.

I kept this look very monochrome, adding my favourite MAC lipstick (REBEL) for some colour. I can't describe how stylish I felt, and how many compliments I received from my hairdresser that morning and the girls.
