#AnAfternoonAtAscot with Ladbrokes

I was invited along to Ascots champions day by Ladbrokes and Branded 3. An event I’d only ever been able to really dream of attending, I jumped at the opportunity to get my best hat and dress on.

Not only were we treated to tickets to watch the races but we also were invited for a 4 course meal and afternoon tea in the Pavilion. I couldn’t have asked for a better bunch of people to share the occasion with.

Having never been to Ascot before I clued up on the dress attire (it's a little strict) and opted for this amazing Anna Scholz Maxi Space dress. Not one to want too much fuss I bought a black small fascinator that I felt matched the drama of the print on my dress. I was so glad I went for something long and covered as the weather wasn’t on our side brrr.

We were welcomed in to the pavilion with a champagne reception. We grabbed our seats and after a natter and a few drinks getting to know one another, we had our starter, which was amazing. We then made our way out for the first race.

Between the races we came back to eat the main, followed be desert. We were also treated to a cheese board which I could not resist.

I placed two bets on the day and sadly lost both ( I was soooo close with my second one but sadly Frankie Dettori lost in the last few seconds.)

After watching the Champions Race the final race of the day, we made our way back for Afternoon Tea. We were treated to scones and lots of sweet delights.

We had plenty of Gin and tonics through out the day and had such a giggle with the people on my table. The last ones standing we left Ascot a little merry and with myself on the edge of my seat to find out the result in the rugby (Wales sadly got knocked out.) The train journey back to Waterloo provided a lot of laughs though.
