I was gifted this amazing jumpsuit from Taking Shape over the holidays. I was aiming to try wear it for New Years but in a rush packing the night before having to leave for Wales, I'd left it on a hanger behind my door. Safe to say I was devastated.
I fell in love with this jumpsuit the moment I put it on to try it. The fabric and fit are lovely. I sized up to the biggest size and could have done with sizing down. I do like how loose it fits though.
There's a handy popper that allows you to open to put on, then close so the wrap doesn't expose.
I styled it with a old necklace from H&M and my new favourite pair of shoes from New Look. I'm off for drinks over the weekend so this is my go to piece to wear.
I made the look casual for day time with my bargain Bomber Jacket from the Cut for Evans collection.

My mum was down
last week visiting just before Christmas. She was fortunate to be part of the team
of volunteers who picked the poppies out the grounds of the Tower of London. We
visited the Tower, Borough Market and walked along the Thames and Southbank for
a lovely day, which finally made me feel a little Christmassy. I decided to
wear my new duster jacket from New Look (50% off currently) and dressed it up
with a necklace gifted at the Littlewoods SS15 event.

Evans Collection

My marmite feelings towards Evans almost change in a matter of seconds after a visit to their Marble Arch store. My favourite store in the whole of their branches, I visited one sunny Saturday afternoon as I had to pick up new bedding and some new underwear at Primark. By this point I still hadn't tried on the cut for Evans things. All in the sale I grabbed the chance to try the Scuba dress I had my eyes on. I also grabbed a chance to try on the Collection pieces I've been sorting after. Here's what I thoughts:
What isn't to love about this dress? I mean the price is even now incredible. I tried on my normal size a size 20 and just felt I may have needed a bigger size. Unfortunately they didn't have it :(. I went straight online to find the dress had sold out completely and my heart broke. I was still on a spending ban but somehow willingly to break it for this dress. I love the material and colour. The only thing I would change is how short it was on me, but being 5ft 9/10 it's something I constantly battle with.
This jumpsuit was/is/will forever be AMAZING. The floral with the spotted mesh detailing, the style, the cut EVANS I LOVE YOU. I would however probably size up again in this as the fabric felt snug around my middle bit (girl got hips and a ASS haha.) the price tag no matter how steep may have to be forgotten (oif this arrives in Sale may need to be snapped up) This WILL be in my wardrobe in 2014 some point.
Now this dress was something I have wanted since it came out. The floral print, the neon and necklace everything about this dress is so Spring Summer 14. I tried on again my normal size in this dress a size 20 but I think for the shift style and fit I would easily have to size up twice. The joys of having a body that's two size bigger at the bottom. I'm not sure if I loved this as much as the jumpsuit although I would love this to be a piece in my wardrobe, I think the wardrobe would have to be there before this. However saying that the whole 'Collection' collection is so inspiring and I can not thank Evan's enough for trying something new and pushing the boundaries.

Day to night - Sequins

When I saw this skirt I instantly needed it. I'm like a magpie when it comes to sparkle. I knew I had to wear it for new years but wasn't sure how to wear it to get the most out of it. My Wardrobe is full of pieces I wear once and never utilise to get full wear out of. Unbeknown to me on closer inspection I saw I had pieces in my wardrobe that would carry this skirt from day to night.
I decided to dress it with a lilac camo boyfriend tee to give it a casual edge for day time. I teamed it with some cut out high tops from Topshop (Xmas sale bargains) and my favourite statement Primark necklace. I love how day time this look is even though I'm wearing a sparkle glitzy skirt. I also love how feminine the outfit it. I do have a tendency to be a bit grunge and casual with my daytime looks.
For the night I wrapped around my New Look Inspire eyelash cardigan and tucked it into the skirt. A simple and effect way to create a two piece for night that will guarantee you get all eyes on you. I just love how cosy and how perfect these two items peice together. Match made in heaven.

As I'm sure a lot of you know Navabi is a one stop destination for designer plus size clothing. With over around 50 designers it's a go to for on trend designer fashion.
They are quoted saying 'We score with exclusive service – fast and free shipping, personal style advice, and much more. Desirable life(&)style is more than the sum of its parts.' It offers a service and experience not always seen to be offered to women of plus sizes, a movement in the industry that is definitely needed.
I was kindly gifted this gift from the designer Manon Baptise. It's headline ' Parisian chic for the contemporary confident woman.' I dislike being negative but seeing as I can't lie and will always be honest, the dress I was sent was a bit too adventurous in respect of creating and adapting a peplum. I will say it photographs better than in person, after seeing the pictures I actually think it looks lovely on. After the problems of sizing and being sent the garment in a smaller size (first point, sizing isn't great but I loved the fact I had to size down,) The peplum can only be described as the outline of a pair of pants both at the front and back. I have an arse and hips and quite frankly this dress did nothing for either parts. My arse actually looked like had grew wings. The price point for me was way too much also. The dress is simply a jersey dress and for £142.90 I just couldn't part with my cash for this dress.
It's such a shame that I've had this negative experience, but may I add not at all with Navabi or the PR( they've been incredible with service and helping with the sizing,) but with this particular garment. The rest of the designers collection which is currently up is amazing with pieces I could definitely imagine suiting myself and others.
Anyway here's the pics. I wore it dressed up with heels and kept it simple just not to add anymore attention to it.

Just another blogging challenge - My pick of the Sales

As I'm sure you may know, or even agree, Evans hasn't always been my go to brand for Plus size clothing, especially trend led. Lately though I think my opinion is going to be drastically changed. Some point last year, when they released 'collections' I spotted this dress and immediately wanted it, the only thing stopped me as always was the price point. £50 for what looked like a printed jersey midi dress just wasn't worth it. Working in the fashion industry you learn how items are priced and what percentage a mark up tends to be against the cost price to retail price (yes having this information is horrible, especially when you work out how little it cost the brand to buy it initially to how much it is for us to buy in store.) Anyway I went home for Xmas and decided to go sale shopping in Cardiff on boxing day to spend some money. As I traveled in so early I went in every shop I could waiting for the next to open. Luckily Evans opened fairly early so I decided to take a look for a new pair of boots. When walking in I spotted it on the sale rack and ran to check out the new price. £20 down within 2 mins this dress was in my shopping bag. I love the fabric, fit and the print (basically everything about it.) I'm not sure on the colour, blue isn't a colour I have a lot of in my wardrobe but I think it's a good addition.
