Farfetch Vintage Luxury Designer Night Out

To celebrate the birthday of 1950s Hollywood screen siren and fashion icon Grace Kelly, I was invited to a 1950’s vintage style pamper party by Farfetch. The event was held at the amazing Drink Shop Do in London.

I had so much fun getting to hang out with the other bloggers and their Pr team and to learn more about the website whilst enjoying an amazing array of food and drinks. I was also pampered by the amazing vintage hair and make-up duo Dolly and Rhonda.

If you didn’t know Farfetch is a creative hub, linking up over 300 high end independent boutiques around the globe to sell at one destination. This means that luxury designer items from across the world and in various different shops are available to purchase at a click at a button. The exciting thing about this is each boutique will have different fashion forward and cut edge items available. You could be sitting at your desk in the UK and buying that must have Moschino bag all the way from Italy, that sadly sold out at Selfridges, Harrods and Harvey Nics. Tying in nicely with the events theme, Farfetch also have a vintage section which stocks designers such as designers such as Chanel, Moschino and Lanvin.

Farfetch Vintage Luxury Designer Grace Kelly Night Out

A top trend for this autumn winter 2015 has been titled as the ‘Vintagist’. Miu Miu’s collection championed this look that had a distinctive 1950’s vintage, geek chic vibe. Gucci sent models down the runway dressed like Margot Tenenbaum of Anderson’s 70s set film The Royal Tenenbaums, whilst Prada brought back the swinging 60’s. This season certainly has gone back in time and brought back the much loved vintage trend, which is why Farfetch decided to pay homage to one of the most admired sirens from the past, Grace Kelly, and celebrate the trend and her achievements by throwing a vintage pamper birthday party

After arriving and having a little natter with my fellow guests, I was first up to go back to the past. My hairstylist chose a simple but amazing bee hive style. Within 10 minutes my hair was done and the results were incredible. I loved this style and it certainly made me feel prim, proper and from the past. I then sat to get my makeup done. WOW! My eyeliner was insane. I’m awful at applying eyeliner and can only wish I could end up with the same results whilst doing it myself. With a little colour to the cheeks and lips I really was devastated that I wasn’t going anywhere after the event to show off my look (I could only document my love for it on Instagram and of course here.)

I am so thankful for the opportunity to attend the party. Working with Farfetch previously (read here) I was excited to grab the chance to meet the team. Working, living and breathing fashion, the vintage look is something that I admire and love.

Drink Shop Do is cool and quirky concept bar that offers amazing afternoon teas, as well as a whole host of experiences, from drinking, dancing, crafting and off-the-wall themed nights. The interior really is my interior goals for my future home (see the images below.) You can find it at 9 Caledonian Road, Kings Cross, London N1 9DX.

I’ve chosen a few of my favourite Vintage pieces below that I can only dream of purchasing.
