Beth Ditto First Plus Size Clothing Collection Launch Review

I was fortunate to attend the launch a few weeks ago of the new plus size fashon clothing from ex Gossip singer and now Fashion Icon/Designer Beth Ditto. Being an absolute icon of mine and someone whom I've admired from a far, to get the chance to meet her was a dream. I was also so thankful that Selfridges  had bought a plus size collection in to their stores, and was especially grateful it was Beths.

After meeting the women herself (she is an absolute babe) I decided to try on two pieces from the collection I was really hoping to get my hands on. This is was the silk printed bubble dress (that Beth was wearing at the launch) and the Lola lipstick print dress. The prints, the shape, everything appealed to me when I saw these dresses.

I did cheekily throw on the young Americans embroidered denim jacket over what I was on the shop floor and genuinely fell in love. Beth sourced plus size vintage jackets and applied the original embroidery to the back and it is so fun and was the perfect addition to what I was actually wearing.

The amazing staff, who were really welcoming, showed us to the fitting room where for once in my life I was able to try on clothing in one of my favourite department stores.

The bubble hem dress fitted like a dream. Although over sized and baggy, the elasticated hem really created that bubble like shape at the hem. The V neck line flowed with the print well and the fit was pretty spot on. There was a tie that came with the dress (not included in the pics) but as a oversized dress I still felt my shape could be seen and I didn't feel as though I was wearing a tent. 5 Stars from me. The print also amazes me, it just screams disco lights and I just love how colourful and fun it is.

The second dress is the Lola lipstick printed dress. This style comes in two plain options (light grey & black) but me being as loud as I am fell in love with the lip print. The style it's self is sophisticated and easy to wear. The cross over high neck is roomy so you don't feel like you're in a chocked hold and the gathered panels that fall from the waist to the hips double up as pockets. The fabric has stretch but I did size up so it felt comfortable. Everything about this dress just made me want to get it even more. The print, the cut, the style, flawless. I'm seriously thinking of investing in this for any summer weddings I may be invited to (cough *someone invite me to their wedding so it's the perfect excuse*.)

I seriously could not fault the products. The quality, attention to detailing, you can clearly see Beth has put her heart and soul in this collection and I for one am excited to see what next season holds.

Love
