Casual At the Front | Party At The Back - Customised Denim with Evans

Hahaha so the title was inspired by the amazing Simona on the Evans Pr team (told you I’d shout ya out babes.) I was kindly invited along by some of my fav pr’s to the Evans customising denim event a few weeks ago.  As soon as I heard about the idea at a previous press day I prayed for the day an invite would drop possibly drop in my inbox and when it did I responded in seconds.

All the patches, studs, monogramming, literally you could decorate to your heart’s content. Jackets, jeans, hoodies, the options were limitless.

I opted for a pair of jeans. As much as I wanted a jacket, for me the desire had sort of died away and I knew exactly what it was I wanted on a pair of jeans.
I chose these slim boyfriend style jeans with a frayed edge and some rips (can’t find them online but here’s the boyfriend style jeans available). As soon as I tried them for fit (and boy do they fit nicely) I rushed to put my creative brain to work.
A lovely lady (whos name I didn’t catch) helped me position patches, studs and where to place my chosen words :p. I had so much fun and could have definitely added more but felt I had enough to make my idea come to life.

The event was hosted by Evans and Hand and Lock. If you’ve not heard of them, they are London’s premier embroidery house, and have provided embellishment services to the Royal Family (heya queenie), top European design houses, the Royal Armed Forces, Savile Row as well as members of the public (they have a pop up at Topshop – Oxford Street.)
My jeans were placed in the machine and the embroidery soon started in a luscious red.
The words slut and drop where embroidered on each back pocket. I also added my initials along the hem of each leg. You know coz my name spells out MAG and why not haha. I had a spiky cactus and seductive lip patch sewn on on the back too.
When it came to the front I added some punk rock studs along the edge of the pockets. Just so it wasn’t too much party in the back :p.

As I was first in the queue (and didn’t have so many patches ) I managed to walk away (more wobble after so much prosecco – deadly)  with my new jeans in to the night.
As there was so much going on I styled this look with one of my favourite tops from boohoo. The huge bell sleeves are amazing. Although slightly short in the body, this top is such a good basic to pair with a skirt or just jeans. It’s effortless and stylish.

I’m so grateful for my one of a kind pair of jeans, and of course so grateful to know and work with such a dedicated and inspiring pr team. Evans and arcadia really do knock it out of the park. Also thanks so much to the wonderful team at hand and lock. They really were angels.
So here I go slut dropping across London in my one of a kind jeans ;).

Personalisation and embroidery are so so hot right now. I’m considering monogramming so much more and popping in to the hand and lock studio.  You can pick up iron on patched or pin patches now in places like primark and topshop too so you can customise your own jacket or jeans at home. I used to love ironing on patches to jackets as a kid so I love seeing this trend re appear.

Love
Michaela
