SO it’s nearing the end of Summer – if you can even call it
a Summer and the holiday blues are still here for myself, and the fear that
Winter is coming (had to get a GOT quote in there somewhere.) So you know I
just thought, why not make it worse and look through your holiday snaps and
show off the sunshine, amazing Venice beach and the fact that the clothes I was
wearing were too much in the scorching heat.
As my yours clothing palm tree print top explains, BEACH
PLEASE. I wasn’t sure if I’d love or hate LA. I think it’s a marmite sort of
place, or so I was told beforehand. But boyyyyyy I fell in love. Although I’m
not sure I could live there. It is the most eclectic mix of places. Hollywood –
tacky, Beverly hills – luxe luxe luxe and Venice Beach? Well it’s fun, exciting
and surprisingly chilled.
I’m normally not a beach kinda girl due to sand getting
everywhere. I don’t like having to try get it off my body and from in between
my toes etc. But the sand at Venice beach was clean and soft. The ocean felt
amazing and cooling in the heat. I felt safe comfortable and relaxed. After
chilling out we took a venture up to the boardwalk to see what it had to offer.
Stopping by muscle beach (phwor), eating corn dogs, pizza
the size our head, and drinking brightly
coloured and sweet flavoured ice. Looking at the random act play, sing and
draw. The graffiti, and the wonders at every corner. Skateboarders in the park,
doing tricks in the bowls. I honestly think it’s one of my favourite places.
I just had to capture my outfit at this place, amongst the
palm trees and the hustle and bustle. One of my favourite tops the cotton is
light weight, and the print and text do all the talking. My skirt was on the
thick side, so I was boiling, but I love the laid back feel with the bagged
detailing at the waist.
I felt comfortable, at ease and felt I fitted in with my
tropical print. I even got chatted up by a very handsome man in a t-shirt shop
who wanted to take me to a concert on the beach later that week (sadly at the
time I was with someone – and was leaving LA for Las Vegas.) but I feel the
palm prints had him drawn in, amongst other things ;).
You can grab the top from yours clothing in the sale right
now in limited sizes (Sorry if this has changed now). The draw string bagged skirt is also in sale but I believe sold out in the bigger sizes L.
Love
Michaela
