MSSVG and Junarose collection preview

Last week I was invited along to the Junarose event that was put together by Monique from MSSVG and Lark at Junarose. The event was a preview event of their Spring Summer 2015 collection.

Held at Best seller offices on the appropriately name Fashion Street , the collection was presented so professionally and slick. We were treated to an amazing walk and talk catwalk show. This allowed the clothes to be seen worn and moving but also gave the designers of Junarose a chance to talk about the inspiration behind each piece and trend. We also got the chance to chat and discuss things with the design team which allowed them to understand the wants and needs of us the consumer.

I found so many piece and trends that I love. Each garment felt of good quality and also good fit. It was great having the chance to look at every piece from each collection, especially for me as I do love to feel fabrics (pet hate of internet shopping.) The cute little features, like the denim trim on the striped dress just made the dress go from basic to wow! There are so many pieces I want to get my hands on. Also STRIPES are a big factor in the nautical trend (ladies of any size YES you can wear stripes despite what anyone says.)

There were 4 main trends that each collection followed. I've grouped the images below together to show you guys :).

I'm not a lover of pink, white or overly girly things but a few pieces caught my eye from this look.

We were so lucky to be gifted an item from the current collection. As you can see I chose this amazing cardigan. I have an outfit post coming up styling it in all different ways so keep your eyes peeled.

A massive thank you to Junarose and MS.SVG for a lovely evening and for my amazing gift. Just incase anyone would like to pick up some Junarose goodies, MS.SVG is offering new customers 25% off full priced items with the code – newcustomer214.

The Design Collective for Evans

So last night was the night that ‘The Design Collective for Evans’ catwalk show took place. Held at the freemasons hall in Covent Garden the show promised to be an exciting and innovative collection that would bring high end design to the great British high street and more importantly to the plus size community.

‘With the focus on the capital for London Fashion Week SS15, Evans will showcase full outfits from the main collections of Giles Deacon, Hema Kaul, Vita Gottlieb, Lulu liu, Jamie Wei Huang and Clements Ribeiro. All of their designs have been reworked using Evans’ specific knowledge and shape specialism to create a collaborative “Design Collective”.
As well as these well known designers the winner from the third CUT for EVANS competition will have their designs showcased alongside the originally designed Collection; that has been created exclusively in house by the Evans design team.’

Unfortunately I wasn’t one of the lucky ones to gain access to the event, but I watched the show via youtube to catch a glimpse of the show.

What can I say? This show in my eyes has pushed boundaries and shown plus size in the light it should always be portrayed. Professional , slick and full of beautiful models and guests such as Ashley Grayham, Naomi Shimada and Denise Bidot.

Of course there were the usual dip hems and sheer delights, but with names such a Giles Deacon creating clothing for a plus size brand who are showcasing during London Fashion week, this is sure to just show how plus should be included in all walks of fashion. I hope that this isn't just a one wonder gimmick and hope that Arcadia and Evans push boundaries at the next fashion week and even the one after this.

I've pulled a few looks that I simply will kill to have in my wardrobe (Evans staff/head office beware hahaha.)

What did you think of the collection? Any favourite stand out pieces?
