I was lucky to be gifted this incredible Maxi skirt from the brand Elvi. If you’ve never heard of the plus size brand then you should check them out. They produce high quality on trend fashion in sizes UK 14-26.
The website explains the history behind this incredible brand
‘Originally
founded by Elin Vissor in Holland in the 1940s, Elvi was introduced to the UK
in 1993 via high street shops and department store concessions specifically to
provide flattering clothing designs for plus sizes for women. Our focus
on high end quality all at affordable prices ensures that each piece we deliver
provides effortless style in a flattering fit that will suit every
budget. We bring you textures, prints and cuts inspired from around the
world, as well as twists on timeless classics, all created specifically for the
larger lady. Buy plus size ladies fashion from Elvi and you can be
confident the clothes you wear will show off your shape, flatter your body and
make you look as good as you feel.’
When I received the item, I was so impressed. The quality of
the fabric and print were exceptional. The sizing was also spot on, there is not one fault with this item. The skirt has
an elasticated waist band for comfort, but I also like it as decoration. The
monochrome print is so easy to wear and eye catching. I love the length on me too. It's not touching the floor and it also isn't too short that it looks odd. I tend to find with maxis the lengths can sometimes be weird on me as I'm 5ft 9.
I styled the skirt in two ways to show how I’m currently
wearing it transitioning to Summer and how I’ll be wearing it throughout the
rest of the season.
First of all I took inspiration from their styling on the
website. I created a high fashion/ 70’s vibe with this grey turtle neck jumper
and a fedora hat. I love how this look feels on but also how it looks. Its so
so simple yet so effective.
For my second look I teamed a plain black crop top with a
fringed kimono. Another boho/70’s look that is just so relaxing and free
spirited. I can just tell I’ll feel completely comfortable in the hotter weather,
whilst still feeling stylish and on trend.
I love this skirt so much and would urge people to get it.
It’s worth every penny. I know a few of the girls who have saw me wore it have
fallen as in love with it as I have.
