Off The Shoulder Trend With BooHoo

Plus Size Black Off The Shoulder Top With Ruffle - BooHoo
After what felt a lifetime of it turning up (along with my mermaid blanket – Boohoo please consider changing your delivery service) this off the shoulder ruffle top finally arrived. Just one of a few items I bought over bank holiday weekends, I appreciate it probably isn’t the most exciting.

Cardifforniagurl x Nerd About Photos - Boohoo And Simply Be Review

Boohoo Plus Gracie Jumpsuit Simply Be Leopard Print Maxi Dress
The one struggle of a blogger is finding someone to take pictures. I mean I can’t be the only one with that problem. Having a vision and being restricted because you don’t want to nag your friends or you don’t have the time to execute it. It’s the most frustrating thing. But when a friend Stephanie from Nerd About Town announced she was trying to go in to the wonderful world of photography, I jumped at the chance to take some outfit pictures.

Boohoo Plus Size - My Fav Logo Tee

I love a good logo top, especially the the statement suits me to a Tee ;). Boohoo Plus is on point this season for its shout out loud quotes, including this 'brains, beauty, booty' top. They are so easy to wear and dress up your skinny jeans. I threw a green khaki bomber jacket over mine with some blue skinny jeans.

BooHoo Plus Review - Sleeveless Waistcoat

I was lucky to be invited to the BooHoo Plus Press breakfast  (sneak peak here) and was gifted an amazing outfit by the PR babes there.

Boohoo Plus AW15

BOOHOO Plus Press Day AW15

The plus size industry has grown over the last few years, and fortunately for us ladies straight size brands are adding a plus section to their collections. If you haven't heard of Boohoo I'd be surprised. With their catchy tv adverts, billboard adverts and continuous pages in the magazines, the brand added the plus size range to their collection to the line roughly two years ago. I was fortunate to go along to their AW15 press breakfast to view their up and coming collection.

Boo-hoo Plus - how to style a plain black sleeveless waistcoat

I've been uming and arghing over this waistcoat for a while, and had previously posted it in my list of boohoo wants. On a whim I decided to go for it and I’ve not regretted it since. With the weather being so nice as it is, this waistcoat lets me layer up without having to suffer with the heat.

boo hoo - it's not pay day just yet :(

So it's that awkward time in the month where you've been out constantly, you've purchased a big food shop, picked up a few must have pieces on pay day. and your bank balance is now sadly looking bleak for the rest of the month. Yes we all get to that stage :( (unlimited money source please find me soon.)

To stop me feeling so sad I've done a want list from a few of my favourite Plus size retailers atm. You may notice through the next few blog posts, colour and print have gone far far away. I believe I've got all tonal and minimal (The Kardashian influence for sure.)

Here's my first list of wants from BOOHOO:

1. Black T shirt Dress

2. Sleeveless waistcoat

8. Long Sleeve plunge body

What I wore - Crop to the top

So I'm not one to shy away from showing some flesh, so when it came to outfit planning for my first night out in a long while I opted for something easy to wear, but still fashion forward. My trusty disco pants have served me well for over a year. I love the high waist and the shine, they instantly put me in a good mood which boosts my confidence. I then chucked on my favourite crop top ever (forever21+ have got it right with these.) Not one to shy away from colour or print I threw my simply be duster jacket on top along with a triangle pendent necklace. I wanted to be able to walk by the end of the night so I popped on my favourite heeled boots (probably the comfiest shoes ever) and was ready to rock the night.

Payday wants

So it's coming to the end of the month. Lunch at work is the bare minimal soup and some stale bread and you hope and prey you have enough of everything to get you through the last 3 days, until the morning you open your bank account and BOOM your out of the minus and in to the plus (We can all vouch this happens every end of the month don't deny it.) But this doesn't stop us eyeing up what delights we're going to get our hands on the moment the money drops.

I'm visiting Dublin for a girls/mums holiday in October so I intend to ensure my wardrobe is spot on for all the things we have planned, including seeing Lady Gaga.

#ShopMyWardrobeforLent Week 2

So the last week hasn't been too difficult. I can't tell if this is because I've been too busy to even contemplate looking online for clothes let a long pop in to a shop, or whether or not my bank balance will not allow for any unnecessary transactions.

I really am enjoying utilising my wardrobe though, and wearing bits I'd forgotten about. I am dying to shop my wardrobe back home though and already have a list of things I need to bring back.

Here's my outfits this week:

Outfit 1

A little bit of Anna Scholz to glam up my outfit today :)

Went with the simple boyfriend top and jeans with a statement necklace today.

Outfit 2

Outfit 3

TGI and unexpected date night to see Chvrches :) Disco pants were out in full force with some neon and khaki. Haven't got the pants out in a while ;)

Outfit 4

Night out with the girls. Tested out one of my new boohoo pieces. Adore the two piece dress. Comfortable and so easy to wear. Full boohoo review coming soon.

Outfit 5

Sundays are slowly becoming a FLAWLESS day for me. If I'm not hungover, I'm too lazy to get dressed. The dirty stop out I am ;) stayed at Debz after out night out. This is me in the morning with a horrible hangover haha.

Outfit 6

I love teaming up midis with tops. This top in particular is a rather threatening one ' Dear Karma, I have a list of people you missed.' Sadly this is pretty true.

Outfit 7
Celine Top and jeans (cheap ebay find - late to the pack I know.) Simple monochrome look with some statement jewels to dress up

So far so good on the outfit front. I can't wait to pack some goodies back in Wales. Let's hope my suitcase fits it all in ;)
