I'm A LA Girl - Yours Clothing & Simply Be

I'm A LA Girl - Yours Clothing & Simply Be
LA always looked like a marmite sorta place. Somewhere you’d either love or hate. I’m an avid lover of shit reality tv such as the real housewives of Beverly hills, Vamderpump rules and of course the Kardashians but from watching the life styles of the rich and famous I really couldn’t make my mind up if I’d love it. Sooo of course that meant on the road trip of a life time LA had to be a place to head to.

Simply Be Footwear - My Favourite Boots

Simply Be Sole Sister Shoe Campaign - Leather Cut Out Boot Review

If you live in the UK you’ll know how temperamental the weather is. Rain one second, sun the next. And my biggest dilemma is what shoes to wear. Something comfy, but something to keep my toes dry. Something stylish that goes with my outfit, but something that won’t blister my feet. My go to during this weird time of the year for weather is a pair of boots. I find they go with almost every item I own and are comfy dry and stylish.

My Fav Simply Be Sale Pick - Alice And You Dress

Alice And You Floral Print Skater Dress Review Simply Be

Believe it or not I didn’t really sale shop this Christmas. I’m not sure if it’s the older I get the less and less I consider what else I can spend my money on. Or the simple fact my room is over spilling with FAR too many clothes and shoes that just aren’t being worn (sale coming soon ladies.) Regardless I didn’t have any occasions coming up that justified being for, and I have outfits planned in my head with what I have soo I was very careful not to go crazy and get deterred in the Christmas Sales.

My Christmas Gift Guide - For The Males & Yourself

SO Christmas is vastly creeping upon us and if you’re anything like me this year then you’ve hit panic stations, thinking you’d completed your shopping but alas forgetting things along the way. My minds been all over the shop with some huge changes recently in my life. Some changes I’m grateful for, and some well some I could have done without. I’ve put this guide together and whilst looking for items spotted a few things I’d like myself.

Cardifforniagurl x Nerd About Photos - Boohoo And Simply Be Review

Boohoo Plus Gracie Jumpsuit Simply Be Leopard Print Maxi Dress
The one struggle of a blogger is finding someone to take pictures. I mean I can’t be the only one with that problem. Having a vision and being restricted because you don’t want to nag your friends or you don’t have the time to execute it. It’s the most frustrating thing. But when a friend Stephanie from Nerd About Town announced she was trying to go in to the wonderful world of photography, I jumped at the chance to take some outfit pictures.

Festival Fashion With Simply Be - Look 1 Flow Festival 2016

Plus Size Festival Fashion Advice Simply Be
SO this post is one of three festival clothing looks I have prepared. Now we're nearing the end of Festivals (Reading and Leeds are currently on and Bestival is September) but I'm going to show you how to buy items that'll see you through any occasion too. I love festivals. It's a chance to hang out with friends, see your favourite band live, dance to your hearts content, dress up and just have a really good time. Come rain or shine (always pray for Sun) there is just something about the festival atmosphere that just sets it apart.

My Holiday Fashion Wishlist - Dreaming The Days Away

This year it seems my holidays have been booked with many adventures to explore the world. So less time relaxing by the pool side, and more adventuring about seeing what each place has to offer. I have already visited Dublin and Italy and I will be on my way to Finland in August for a music festival (watch out for lots of up and coming posts.)

Jameela Jamil For Simply Be - Polka Dot Mesh Dress

When I first spotted (excuse the pun) this dress I knew it had to mine. I am a huge fan of Jameela Jamil. She's such a great advocate for body positivity and imagery, and when Simply Be announced the collaboration I was more than excited to see what was in store.

Bra-Humbug With Simply Be

Bring some festive cheer into your lingerie draw this Christmas with Simply Be. Don't neglect the foundation under your clothes and wear miserable-looking bras and briefs this holiday season. As I'm sure you know I love myself a good set of lingerie and what better way to treat yourself this christmas, than to buy yourself some undies to make you feel sexy and sassy.

Ashley Graham Holiday Lingerie Collection Simply Be

When I spotted this set on Ashley Graham at NYFW I knew it had to be mine. The show that was in collaboration with Ashley and Canadian plus size fashion brand Additionelle was an incredible achievement and Ashley's photo was even published by the Khloe Kardashian. I constantly kept looking at the additionelle website on a daily occurance to when this set would be dropping. When I heard Ashley Grahams Holiday season lingerie range was getting sold on Simply Be in the UK I freaked out and I just had to get it as soon as it dropped.

Alice And You - How I Dress the 70's Trend

A few weeks ago I met up with some uber blogger babes in London. We’d previously met up at Westfield months before and unfortunately had a bad run in staff at TGI Fridays. After a complaint and some serious action from the area manager we received vouchers to make up for the rudeness we’d experienced.

Plus sized wars

So after last night’s viewing and publicity surrounding plus sized wars on Channel 4 I felt I had to blog and voice my opinion.

ASOS Curve - The Little (but sexier) Black Dress

When I saw this dress and at the price it is at I put it straight in my basket and bought it without a second thought. This is what my wardrobe is all about atm. Finding those pieces that can be dressed up, that are muted in colour and simple but edgy in style...

Asos Curve Splurge - You either love or hate

So I've recently gone a splurge, buying pieces to update my wardrobe that are stylish, simple and I can build many outfits from. I found my wardrobe was beginning to become a bit too mis matched and I struggled to build more than one or two looks out of the pieces I had.

I've always wanted a turtle neck top, but Primark didn't deliver when I was looking for a plain black jersey one, (I'm a sucker for buying my basics from there.) So when Asos Curve had one in and an extra 20% off I had to get it (came to £11 in total I think.) For a piece I know I'll wear over and over again I think I'll get my wear out of this. I'm hoping this jersey lasts and doesn't get bobbly and thin over time (the only negative of buying £5 tops from Primark.)

These trousers are a little bit like marmite. I think you either love or hate. They are the typical jersey peg leg trouser Asos Curve produces, but I love them so much. I purchased a polka dot and floral pair about two years ago and lived in them for months. I think the fit and the print is so so good and the comfort level is through the roof. The plus with this fabric seems to be that they don't seem to bag as much as previous pairs I have bought. The grid print is so in right now too which is a bonus.

I kept this look very monochrome, adding my favourite MAC lipstick (REBEL) for some colour. I can't describe how stylish I felt, and how many compliments I received from my hairdresser that morning and the girls.

Simply Be Tropical Co-ord - Mic(x) and Match ;)

You may remember I was invited along to Simply Be SS15 preview last year (see post here #SimplyBess15) . I picked this co-ord up straight away and knew it was a must have.

When the new season catalogue hit down I raced ahead and purchased both the trousers and top. The tropical print is just so nice. It makes me want Summer to arrive even more so. You can easily dress this look up or down and mix and match basics with it. I think each piece is such a key item and I cannot wait to mix and match my looks this season.

I put them both together to create an almost jumpsuit kind of look for this post.I dressed this look up with some lace up heels (similar here & here), a duster jacket and a textured bag (similar here.) I fell in love with this look instantly. I’m now looking at purchasing the tunic dress too, just because I love how colourful this print is .

The only downside is the fabric. There is little to no stretch in this fabric. I sized up in both items and feel like I could have sized up one more size in the trousers to allow for spread when I sit down. Either way I cannot wait to wear this outfit over and over again.

Hollie took my pictures whilst I spent a girls weekend with her and the rest of the girlies, and looked amazing in the Scuba stripe dress below (Her review is here.) This is my next must have along with the tropical print dress.

ASS ASS ASS!

#SimplyBeSS15

I have been move than lucky and very fortunate and thankful to have been invited to so many press days lately. Simply Be was no exception. I have been a fan of the brand for years. My mum used to purchase clothes for me from there until I got my own job and could get that pesky credit account hahahaha (dangerous!)

I was invited along by Lee Publicity and Simply Be to preview their Spring Summer 15 collection and as always, it didn't disappoint (well okay I did walk away upset that I have to wait till next year to get hold of all the clothes.)

In the Penthouse Suite of the Sanderson  we were shown a range of collections and swimwear pieces that will blow you away. My list is as long as my arm for the up coming season.
